- Reality is the start of fantasy

Wohooo! I survived one sem of my 4 years of study. Sure 7 more to go. Haha the last few weeks had been hell. Sleepless nights, Maggi cup noodles, canned coffee, depression and stress. How I miss staying over at groupmate’s house to finish up projects. Once again….Nadz I miss your Dad’s chicken chop! And first experience of staying over at S3.1 com lab. Mehhhh the whole group stayed over to complete our 3D project. By 10pm we were all crazy, hungry and mad. Wahaha we were debating whether to:

1. Stay over in the lab (which is so freaking scary)

2. Stay till we finish and cab home (which will be insanely expensive and heart wrenching when I had to pay the taxi uncle)

Well obviously we had no choice since we don’t wanna waste the money to cab home and anyway we ended up finishing our project at 8AM the next day. Walked all the way to get Mac. I swear everyone were high on cholestrol till we were laughing at the most random thing ever. I stare into space they laugh. Some one walk pass oso laugh…..

And we though NP automatic lights were scary. NO S3.1 was worse. LOL the lights along the corridor will off, every single one of them and the sensors are only at each end of the corridor. So jumping insanely doesn’t work anymore. And finally when we finished the model and had to walk to our groupmate’s hall, it started to rain like nobody’s business haha. With only 2 umbrellas and 8 person we ran like mad along the road at 4AM in the morning in that damn pouring rain. To make it worse, my shoes were slippery and I was clinging on to Kuanyee who was having the same problem. Lmao should watch us skid and scream at the intersection of the room while the rest of them stare at us with D: face.

Well that night which we stayed over was just the 1st after which on average I slept only 3 hours per day. Its a wonder I didn’t sleep all the way to BoonLay in the train and all the way back to Pasir Ris again. And Never NEVER take cab to school again omg it’s the most expensive cab ride I will ever take. It cost freaking 35 bucks to get to sch at 8Am in the morning. With that I can eat 2 Ramens T_T. Speaking of Ramen, TAMPOPO WAS AWESOME OMG. The pork cutlet ramen was so nice I wished I had another bowl but no I will kill myself after that. *CANDY LETS GO THERE EAT ONE DAY!

Anyway will update some other day. Am now having difficulties typing with one hand. Damn accidentally slash my left hand with the penknife while packing my stuff today. Such a small cut but bleed and hurt so much.

Seems like the flu virus keeps coming back to me. RAWR was sick last last friday, down with flu, sore throat, feverish and a cough that only show up when I’m trying to sleep. MEHHHH and now after taken a cold shower, downed a cup of ice water plus switched on my air-con to the lowest temperature, I still feel feverish. Boo-Hoo….

Anyway, today in class, our class did silkscreening. It was so fun(minus the washing process). Get to print some really awesome stuff. ANNNDDD I printed my first every T-shirt and Bag. Hahaha…Will try to take some photos and post it here.

That’s all for now. Need to get some sleep now. Tomorrow will be a longgggg day with drawing, lit lecture and continue my printing. Argh I have not thot of my colour scheme for the prints tomorrow. LOL but guess this will be the lowest budgeted 2D assignment ever haha.

It hurts to see something breaking up…

Wahahaha finally found some time to update my blog. Had 1 week of recess but it’s not much difference I’m still being bombarded by assignments.How I miss poly recess week. At least we get some rest. Haiz like what goon said came through, recess week is like any normal school days just that you don’t need to report to school.

Well at least I had one day off to enjoy myself. Haha first excursion since the start of school. And we went to the Zoo, for F.R.E.E!!!! Haha remember Anita said that she will bring us to the Zoo for us to draw some animals but in the end we didn’t get to. I brought my camera along but meh it started to rain T_T boo-hoo..and of all time it choose to rain when the elephant show just started -_- meh. Lucky I did manage to snap some nice pics. But didn’t get to explore the whole Zoo while I was dragging my super heavy and fat bag around.

While we were walking past, there was this irritating screeching sound so we went to look around and found some of this “flying” monkeys hanging on the tree. Omg one of them actually swinged from on branch to the other which was so far away(and it was towards us).  Gave us a shock D:

The purpose of meeting at 8.45 am is to watch them bathe. First time ever that I am able of dragging myself to the Zoo so early in the morning. Nadz remember our Zoo trip hahaha wanted to meet early end up we went there so late.

Took this during the free and easy time. Was on my way to another part of the Zoo.

It had such nice details on its head. Poor thing it was trying to limp from one end to the other. On a closer look one of its feet was injured : (. I think I’ve seen these species of bird at the bird park before.

Hmm……..

TOM YAM@!

Finaly get my lazy self to do this post for nadz. NADZ GET THIS AWESOME TOM YAM PASTE. Its like heavenly and different from all the other tom yam paste which have a slight sweet taste. I don’t like my tom yam to be sweet. (remember the horrible experience at the foodcourt) My mum said you can get it from NTU just walk around the sauce/chili paste section.

Meh wishlist as requested by candy LOL been pushing this back haha….

1. Wallet (future bro-in-law bough it already LOL)

Candy….its really hard to think of a wishlist la especially when I don’t even know exactly what I want either.

Great just great! My laptop decided to get itself “hospitalized” on the first day of school. I had to wake up early to travel down to HP just to repair 4 keys on my laptop. Grrr…..and of all keys the C D E keys. Like almost everything that I type theres those three letters in them. WOrse! I can’t do the awesome Ctrl C now.

The predicted draggy repair procedure took only 30 minutes. Crap so from 10.30 I have to find one way or another to wait till 2.30pm for my class to start. Called up joyce asking her to check the movie timeslots at JP LOL(THANKS JOYCE). So from 11.30 to 1.30 I went to watch UP alone (sad can??!!) and ate my lunch (very plain sausage bun) in the cinema. The person at the ticket booth refuse to believe that I only wanna get ONE ticket =_= he kept asking LOL.

Took the shuttle bus to school and was late because I could’nt locate LT 29. Why must the campus be so huge and everything is all over the place. How I miss np T_T ICT MMA LEVEL!!!

MISS CANDY SATURSDAY GO OUT HORRRR I WANT TO USE YOU AS MY MODEL FOR MY DRAWING CLASS!!! And off course we can go watch your Hangover after that….and and I need take some photos for my project…..

*Warning SUPER long post ahead*
Today is my last day to beat Tanjong Katong Primary. Time seems to flies seems like not long ago when Joyce and I went to interview for the job as IT Trainers. Haha Joyce told me that she finds the job interesting if minus the teaching part LOL. I’ve learnt lots of things from the teachers and students in the school. Hopefully I can find time to visit them someday. I dragged a whole bag of chocolate biscuits and lollipops to school. I was planning to bring some gifts for the teachers and staff at the school. Guess I wore the wrong shoe for the wrong occasion. I was going around the teachers room to give them the thank you chocolate biscuits until I felt this oh so familiar feeling. Of all times my shoes decided to hurt like mad (I hate blisters!).

Have you seen so many lollipops on your living room floor before?

Yesterday dragged nadz to the primary 1 classes that I’ve taught to take photos with them. I was so sure I wouldn’t cry but seems like I wrong. First class was 1I, they were looking forward to their lesson tomorrow (which will be today) and the teacher told me that she haven’t told her class that I am leaving yet. This class was noisy sometimes but they will always do things that would surprises me. During the start of term 3, their IT lesson should have been completed. But Ms Normala (their form teacher) told me that the students had enjoyed my lessons and went on to ask their parents to feedback to the school and requested more IT lesson. I was so touched when I heard that. Never in my 1 year plus with that school had parents requesting for me to teach. Of course it was fun teaching them. There was this once when Mattheiu and Tessa were fighting over who I should help first. Haha I ended up being stuck in the middle of a tug of war (they were pulling me left and right until Ms Normala come over to stop them). Then there was this time when every one were asking Emma to help them. So cute to see her running around helping her friends while she sigh to me and ask “WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME???!!!”

Next stop we went to Ms Pauline’s class, 1J. They were a bunch of Primary 1 kids who were skilled in IT. I’ll just need to go through once and they can do what I had instructed. They were a breeze to teach (although I had to keep running around giving them stickers). When I step into the class they all grab me into a big hug XD so cute (Monica started it. Soon they all joined in and are unwilling to let go). It was then that I felt like crying.

So touched can T_T

The last lesson I had with them was a few weeks ago. Kekeke remember that day that they went to the new lab and were unsure on how to switch on the computer. John Henry shouted “I know how to on it. My home computer is the same!” Haha it was the first time which they are using the new headphones (it was one sided) and they kept asking me how to put it on or whether did they do it correctly. End up I went around and helped each and every one of them to put it on. So after the photo and as we were leaving I was telling myself not to cry : (. But they did something so touching my eyes started to get all teary. Ms Pauline was telling them that I will be leaving soon so the whole class said “Thank you for teaching us Ms Carrie and good luck with school.”

After going to all the Primary 1 classes, they were all asking why I am leaving. ; ( I am sad omg. They had always been a motivation for me after a tiring day but when their lessons start in the afternoon their smiles just make my day a lot more happier. I will really really miss them T_T.

Today before I left to go back to HQ, the students in 1I gave me a big surprise. I didn’t know that they had made Thank You cards for me. When I went to their class, Miss Normala told them to take out the cards and I went speechless. I was so touched to the point where I just stood there taking in all their cards and hugs while kept saying thank you over and over again. Aiman even went to the lab during his recess time to tell me “Thank You Miss Carrie for teaching me and being very patient with me.” I was really shocked because when he is in class, he will always refuse to do his task and would cry when things don’t go his way. A few of the students had forgotten to bring their cards (Aditya kept telling me sorry because he had left his at home and Anya was asking me when I’ll be back), so they said goodbye with a hug. I was reading through their cards awhile ago, and they brought tears to my eyes again. Never had I thought that one day, in the eyes of a seven year old I will be their favourite IT teacher T_T. I’ll try to put the cards online when I can get the scanner to work. Thank you for all the cards, I will treasure all of them

For the primary 6 students, I had fun following them around filming their video. Some of them were really funny. And some of them really show another side of them when they are committed to their project. I was really happy to able to teach them and help them realise their interest be it acting leading the group or cameraman. They were fighting over which group to get the camera first even though I told them every group would get one haha kids LOL. Although there were times where I had to chase after them to finish their work but was really happy when most of them were able to hand it in.

For the primary 2 and 3 students, they were an interesting bunch of people to teach. Every time when I read, I’ll always ends up laughing (“we need weapons so we can protect ourselves in case of a robot invasion”). But some of them really had shown their interest in IT (and I always promote IT club to them HAHA). Some of their opinions in their project works are really good (a P2 student even went as far as to get a thumbdrive so that he can save his file and continue it at home). And as usual epic things always occur in my class. There’s this boy who cried because his computer was too slow hehe so cute.

It had been a great experience teaching at there even though there are times where my task are so piled up that I felt like giving up. But I will truly remember that in this duration of one year I had left my mark in their memories. Really really want to thank the school for giving me a lot of opportunities to assist them in designing works (built up my portfolio that way). Now whenever I walk pass the school gate I will admire the banner that I had made for them. XD

Hmm guess like what Goon said I’m having withdrawal symptoms. But I will miss this routine of waking up every day going to school, teaching the students, eating bento with nadz at the canteen(miss the fruit vending machine also), teach the P1 and then quickly rush to the bus stop because my bus always arrive on the dot. But life move on.  And with their well wishes (and cards) I will carry on working harder and maybe one day who knows maybe I’ll take up their offer and return as a teacher again.
